Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal can be a very sticky business, whether it’s stuck on your concrete, parking lot or the side of a building, chewing gum eventually changes into a dark smudge on your concrete. But usually before that happens, visitors and clients walking into a store or office will walk on the gum and track it in all over your carpets, rugs and entryway mats. Then it’s embedded deep into the carpet and into the porous surface of concrete, just waiting for another person to step in it again, to track it somewhere else.
We are proud to provide gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Anaheim CA. Find information about our process below:
The best methods for removing gum from concrete usually depends on how long the gum has been there and the level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the chewing gum was left not long ago and it hasn’t penetrated the surface, we might be able to remove it by covering it with ice until the gum freezes, then scraping it off with a putty knife.
The ice forces the gum to freeze into a workable consistency compared to a warm and stringy mess. Once the gum is frozen, we slide a metal putty knife or scraper directly under the gum residue. Next we slide the scraper very slowly beneath the gum and the entire piece should peel right off the concrete.
The above method is only possible with brand new gum.
When we remove gum that has turned black, or is already smashed deep down into the concrete, we use a hot water power washer with the heat dialed up to 200 Degrees to melt the chewing gum. For this type of gum removal service, we don’t use high pressure because that might harm the surface of the concrete!
Our crew never uses more pressure than necessary to clean commercial concrete. These surfaces can be damaged a lot easier than most people think, especially if they’re only 1-2 years old. Concrete can need up to 100 years to cure completely. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our chewing gum removal service.
To remove gum from sidewalks and other surfaces we use specially designed hot water pressure washing tools and powerful soaps that enable us to clean the concrete without leading to any damages.
Using special 200 degree hot water power washers and low pressure, we are able to safely remove gum and dirt while protecting the surface. Our process will also destroy bacteria and viruses that sometimes found in gum on concrete.
By hiring Anaheim Pressure Washing for routine maintenance commercial cleaning at your location, your commercial property will have a better appearance and your gum removal issues will be over!
